Properties by howard lawson, on the market

Do you fancy the idea of living in a Howard Lawson-designed apartment or house?

People who live in his residences have told me they love the details, the character and the personality of his places.

So if this sounds like you, have a look at these interesting homes which are on the market.

5/2 Lawson Grove,
South Yarra

An elegant 1-bedroom flat, in The Manor building,
in the sweet little cul-de-sac of Lawson Grove, South Yarra.

Broxted

1/342
dandenong Rd,
St Kilda east

Admittedly, this one needs a lot of TLC.

As you can see from the images, Broxted has sadly been allowed to fall into disrepair.
Which is very disappointing for such an iconic and important house.

But it would respond well to restoration and re-imagining the spaces to either
suit a large family home, or a respectful conversion to apartments.

Howard Lawson designed and built this extraordinary house,
at St Kilda East, for his own family home, circa 1918.

It is a fantastic example of Lawson’s Arts and Crafts style,
with especially important interiors, that still sport the original detailing.

Broxted was originally part of a larger block, with a spacious garden to the rear.
This has recently been subdivided, leaving the original house on a still-substantial 626m2.

DORRINGTON HOUSE

7/124 CAROLINE ST,
SOUTH YARRA

Dorrington House is one of Howard Lawson’s most recognisable,
and well-loved buildings. It hugs the corner of Alexandra Avenue and
Caroline Street in a confection of artistic flourish.

On the market is # 7, a one-bedroom flat with high ceilings.
